A New Book by dr. kelly graves
When the Snow Melts
Finding the Courage to Become Who You Were Meant to Be
No matter what storms you've faced, no matter how cold your life has felt or maybe still feels, there is still beautiful life waiting for you when the snow melts.
— Dr. Kelly Graves
The Book
Some winters last longer than a season.
Set in Chicago, When the Snow Melts is a journey through hardships and storms coupled with a collection of lessons and strategies that help people "thaw" from the cold and hard experiences of childhood trauma, poverty, substances, and abuse. This is a book about digging deep and finding courage, connection, healing, identity, forgiveness, family, and hope. Dr. Graves writes with unflinching honesty about loss, resilience, and the quiet courage it takes to begin again - to warm from within - and rediscover yourself when the snow melts.
About the Author
I wrote this book because I needed it to exist.
I'm Dr. Kelly Graves — and for a long time, I kept my hardest story to myself. I thought that's what strength looked like. What I've learned, through years of work and a few winters I wasn't sure I'd survive, is that the most transformative thing we can do is tell the truth about where we've been. I wrote When the Snow Melts for everyone who has ever felt frozen in place — and wondered if spring would ever come.

When the Thaw Comes
Practical frameworks for moving from survival mode into genuine transformation — in organizations and in life.
Praise
Dr. Graves doesn't just tell you it gets better. She shows you the work it takes to get there — and makes you believe you can do it.
I've read a lot of books about resilience. This is the first one that felt like it was written specifically for me.
Honest, raw, and ultimately hopeful. When the Snow Melts is the book I wish I'd had years ago.
